Centricity Vision to Introduce New ZEPTOLink Enhancements Boosting the Platform Efficiency and Control at the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) Annual Meeting 2024

CARLSBAD, California – October 15, 2024 – Centricity Vision Inc., a global, commercial-stage ophthalmic technology company, today announced new platform enhancements for the ZEPTOLink IOL Positioning System™ which now enables surgeons the ability to control and reduce treatment time by as much as 60%. These platform enhancements will be showcased at the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) Annual Meeting to be held October 18-21, 2024, in Chicago.

ZEPTOLink is the first and only device that creates an instantaneous capsulotomy with consistent, 360-degree intraocular lens (IOL) overlap for optimal lens positioning and improved outcomes. Previously, ZEPTOLink’s suction hold time parameter was set to a 10 second threshold value, however it can now be customized and adjusted to as low as four seconds, reducing overall treatment time and increasing efficiency per case. With phaco integration, ZEPTOLink is the next evolution of the company’s technology driving the future of automated refractive cataract surgery.

“ZEPTOLink integrates seamlessly with my phaco system and provides the ability to create a precise, consistent, and safe capsular opening for my premium and complex cases,” said Uday Devgan, MD, Devgan Eye Surgery. “The ability to customize my suction hold time provides even greater flexibility and control, allowing me to perform successful capsulotomies even more efficiently, which is crucial to achieving superior results for my premium patients.”

“In surgery, every second matters. The newest product enhancements to ZEPTOLink provide surgeons with another level of flexibility and customization to better meet patients’ needs,” said Todd M. Pinkney, Chief Commercial Officer, Centricity Vision. “We look forward to showcasing these new features at AAO and highlighting how our technology even further increases efficiency and productivity in the operating room, while providing surgeons with greater precision and consistency.”

The company will offer hands-on ZEPTOLink demonstrations at Centricity Vision’s Booth #3915. Sign-up for a demo here.

Precision Pulse Capsulotomy

Creating a well-formed, centered capsulotomy is among the most difficult steps of cataract surgery, and it is essential for effective IOL positioning and stability. By applying 12 micro-pulses of energy in just 4 milliseconds, ZEPTOLink enables surgeons to center the capsulotomy with 360-degree IOL overlap on the patient’s visual axis for improved outcomes.1-4 ZEPTOLink’s precision pulse capsulotomy (PPC) also preserves corneal endothelial cells as well as continuous curvilinear capsulorhexis (CCC or manual capsulorhexis) in cataract surgery.5

About the ZEPTOLink IOL Positioning System

ZEPTOLink is the next evolution of the ZEPTO technology and is ideal for premium IOLs and complex cases.  Designed to enhance the precision and efficiency of cataract surgery, the ZEPTOLink IOL Positioning SystemTM is the first and only device that seamlessly integrates with any phacoemulsification system to create an instantaneous capsulotomy for precise, 360-degree IOL overlap and improved outcomes. The technology also provides significant cost and time savings with easy workflow integration and increased efficiency per case.
